Job Description
We are looking to strategically grow our Securities Financing Technology presence with a series of talented, new hires. As part of this growth, we are looking for exceptional engineers to join our Reference Data development team. The application that this team is responsible for will be central component to integrating multiple systems within Securities Financing.
Successful candidates will have an exceptionally strong grasp of application development fundamentals - with a key specialism in Java and related technologies - and a clear, logical, problem-solving mindset. They will become a key part of the development team they join and the wider Securities Financing Technology department.
Responsibilities:

• Delivering essential business functionality for the Securities Financing business, as part of a DevOps team.
• Working across the end-to-end delivery life cycle alongside our partners in the business; from inception through to production delivery and maintenance.
• Adherence to departmental technical principles and challenging them where appropriate.
• Development of a close working relationship with stakeholders of varying levels of seniority across multiple business functions, including Trading, Sales and Compliance.
• Working alongside our colleagues in the broader regional Equities and Securities Financing department to ensure platform stability for our business

Requirements:

• Self-starter and problem-solver: gets things done on their own with minimum help, knows where to look for answers
• Excellent understanding of Java 17+
• Strong relational database experience
• Deep understanding of related tooling.
• Appreciation of DevOps and continuous improvement techniques
• Public cloud, microservice, containerisation and scalability experience
• Experience with automated testing
• Experience in Investment Banking or Financial Services domain
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, to influence and collaborate with their colleagues, both in technology and the business.

Nice To Have

• Experience in the Reference Data domain
• GCP CloudRun or GKE experience
• GCP BigQuery experience
